-Introduction to the Blog-
Over the past few years, handbags have completely taken over my Pinterest boards, social media feeds, and honestly, my mind. There’s something truly special about designer handbags. They’re more than just accessories—they’re prized possessions. Every girl remembers the moment she got her first one. For some, it’s a reward after saving up from their first big job. For others, it’s a heartfelt gift from someone they love. But no matter how it comes into your life, a designer handbag is a milestone.
It’s a statement piece, an investment, and a reflection of personality all in one. The bag you carry says a lot about how you present yourself—it’s a bag full of character. With such a wide range of brands, styles, and silhouettes, there’s something for everyone. And while they may elevate an outfit, their true value lies in the connection we form with them. A designer bag becomes part of your story—something you carry through milestones and memories, and maybe even pass down one day.
For me, designer handbags have become more than a hobby—they’re a passion. And it’s easy to see why they hold such a special place in the hearts (and closets) of so many.
TheRealReal
The RealReal is my go-to vintage destination for authenticated designer clothing, bags, and shoes. Their site is constantly being updated with new pieces from every major fashion house imaginable. I’ve spent countless hours scrolling through Manolo Blahnik heels and Fendi handbags, daydreaming about how they’d look in my closet. What I love most is how The RealReal makes luxury more accessible, reselling high-end designer items at more reasonable prices and giving them a second life. With prices ranging from under $100 to several thousand, there's something for every budget, making it easier to invest in designer fashion without paying full retail.
The RealReal is home to my very first designer bag—currently en route to my house in California. I’ve spent the past ten months searching their site, looking for the perfect second-hand piece to mark a milestone: my 21st birthday. Choosing a designer bag is no easy task. It’s deeply personal, and after scrolling through hundreds, you realize—you don’t pick the bag, the bag finds you. That moment finally came when I found the Fendi Zucchino FF Chef Small Vintage Bag from their 2005 collection. After months of searching, I knew this was the one.
I felt it was unique, funky, and completely reflected who I am. Choosing just one bag isn’t easy, but it feels like a true gift to finally say—it’s coming home with me. The vintage selection on The RealReal is phenomenal, and in my opinion, it surpasses what’s on the current designer market. Bags from the early 2000s are truly one of a kind, with a charm that’s impossible to replicate. They were crafted with such attention to detail and bold, distinctive styles that set them apart—pieces that feel more like treasures than trends.
7Drawers
I recently came across this newer brand on my Instagram feed, and it instantly caught my attention. Like the others I’ve mentioned, they specialize in reselling designer pieces—mainly vintage shoes and handbags. What really drew me in was their marketing and social media presence. It’s curated in a way that feels both elevated and approachable, making you want to explore their site (and buy something, too). While their selection is more limited, every item is carefully hand-picked and truly one of a kind, which makes each purchase feel personal and extra special.
Treasures of NYC
Treasures of NYC was the first designer resale brand I discovered back in 2023. My roommate received a red Gucci canvas bag from their site, and ever since, I’ve been obsessed—constantly refreshing their page, mesmerized by the stunning pieces they offer. Although it’s a smaller brand and their prices are sometimes higher than resale giants like The RealReal, the difference is in the curation. Every item feels thoughtfully chosen, like it was hand-picked just for you. They specialize in those rare, hard-to-find gems—the kind of designer bags that make a statement and stay on your mind long after you’ve scrolled past.
