SF Thrift Gems

Haight & Ashbury: One of the most iconic streets in the city, filled with new pockets of thrift stores popping up every year. This funky street is hands down the best place to thrift in San Francisco—you can find nearly anything you’re looking for. My most recent thrift trip felt like a gift—good karma and one of the best finds I’ve had in the city in a long time. Wasteland, Indigo, Suede, Buffalo Exchange, and Blue Bin Vintage are the top spots on this street. Conveniently, they’re all within the same two blocks… which is extremely dangerous for your wallet.

Thrifting on Saturday completely reignited my love for fashion and cool, unique pieces—I left feeling seriously inspired. If I had an unlimited budget, everything I snapped a photo of would already be hanging in my closet. Narrowing it down is always a challenge, but the moment I say, “But when will I ever see this again?”—I know my debit card is coming out.

My first purchase of the thrifting trip was a pair of brown polka dot heels—absolute perfection for summer. I audibly gasped when I tried them on and immediately gave my friend the look. They’re everything I’ve been searching for in a heel: flattering, playful, and the ideal new addition to my collection.

The second item purchased was the 90s vintage beaded pink purse. It is flirty, youthful, and girly, and the most unique handbag I have laid my eyes on. The third item purchased was a brown belt filled with details and decals. Brown belts are very in, and my wardrobe was lacking a perfect brown belt. The money on my debit card was running glow, but my luck was not! At the final thrift store, I laid my eyes on the sparkly, pinstripe set, with a pink kitten on the side of it. It fits like a glove, is incredibly flattering, and is the ideal set to wear on a night out. If you find yourself in San Francisco, take a pitstop on Haight & Ashbury, and maybe you will be as lucky as I was.
